Police Assure Lagos Residents of Adequate Security During and After Sallah

The Lagos State Police Command has reassured residents of the state of their safety and security during and after the Sallah celebration. In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the police, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has deployed an adequate number of personnel to vulnerable areas in order to ensure a smooth and incident-free celebration.

CP Owohunwa has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders, and Intelligence Officers to review their deployment strategies and resources, particularly at strategic and vulnerable points across the state. The aim is to prevent any form of security breach or disruption during the festive period. The deployed officers have been instructed to maintain professionalism, courtesy, and firmness in the discharge of their duties.

The statement quoted CP Owohunwa as saying that the security architecture put in place will be closely monitored and reviewed to sustain the existing peace in the state. This demonstrates the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.

The police spokesperson urged everyone to remain vigilant and support the security measures implemented to safeguard lives and property. He advised residents to be security conscious and report any suspicious incidents or activities promptly to the nearest police station. This collective effort is crucial for a secure and peaceful celebration.

The Lagos State Police Command felicitates with all residents, especially the Muslim ummah, on the occasion of the 2023 Eid-el-fitr. The command is dedicated to upholding law and order, and will continue to work tirelessly to maintain peace in the state.
