Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to embrace the values of sacrifice and forgiveness, as well as pray for the unity and progress of the country, during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
On Wednesday, Mr. Shettima delivered his message while observing the Eid prayers at the National Eid ground in Abuja. He was joined by Speaker House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin.
“This sacred day is an occasion to reflect on the mercy of Allah, as revealed through the gracious blessings bestowed upon Prophet Abraham and his son, Prophet Isma’il,” Shettima said.
He emphasized that these timeless lessons serve as a guiding light to humanity, reminding people of the countless trials our Creator presents to us on our path to redemption. By embracing these teachings, we can strive to become the best versions of ourselves.
Shettima concluded his message with a prayer, stating: “May Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices and forgive our shortcomings. May Allah heal us from whatever afflicts us in our private lives and as a nation, and may this day bring forth enduring unity and progress to our beloved country.”
