Transfer: Chelsea announce exit of Edouard Mendy

Chelsea have announced the departure of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from the club.

The Senegalese goalkeeper left the club after three seasons and has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

The 31-year-old played a key role in the Blues’ run to Champions League glory in 2021.

“A hugely likeable character on and off the pitch, Edouard will always have a place in our history for his significant contributions to our 2021 Champions League triumph,” a Chelsea statement read.

“For that, and for everything else, we are grateful. Good luck, Edou!”

Mendy also helped Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations, beating Egypt in the final in 2022.
