Taraba PDP Set to Welcome Defectors and Returnees

In an effort to strengthen its political base, the Taraba State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made known its readiness to accept defectors, including returnees, into its fold.

The party’s state chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, made the announcement on Thursday in Jalingo, the state capital, stating that “very soon, our great party will start receiving decamped members from other registered political parties here in Taraba State.”

Bawa further revealed that a significant number of individuals have expressed their interest in returning to the party, and highlighted that “it will also interest you to know that some of them are not decampees, but returnees.”

Underlining the party’s unwavering commitment to producing competent leaders who will propel the state forward, Bawa emphasized, “we are always ready to receive anybody who wants to join us in the course.”

Commending the people of Taraba State for their massive support in the 2023 general elections, the chairman assured them that the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, is determined to bring the much-desired dividends of democracy to their doorsteps, irrespective of their political party affiliations, religious beliefs, and tribal differences.
