According to the May Browser Market report by Atlas VPN, Microsoft Edge has witnessed a significant surge in its user base, now boasting nearly 300 million users worldwide. This exponential growth can be attributed to the successful integration of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-powered language model.
The report reveals that Microsoft Edge witnessed a remarkable increase of 50 million users within a short span of time after implementing the ChatGPT merger. While this achievement is commendable, it is important to note that Google Chrome and Safari remain the dominating players in the browser market, securing the first and second positions, respectively.
Unsurprisingly, Google Chrome maintains its status as the leading browser with an impressive user count of approximately 3.4 billion. This can be attributed to its robust features, user-friendly interface, and seamless integration with Google’s wide range of services.
Safari, developed by Apple Inc., has also experienced significant growth, surpassing the 1 billion mark in user numbers last year. It continues its upward trajectory with over 1.1 billion users in 2022.
Opera, a lesser-known browser, has experienced noticeable growth with a 40% increase in user numbers. Since April 2022, Opera’s user base has risen from 109 million to 152 million users, indicating a rising popularity.
Firefox, known for its commitment to privacy and customizability, currently boasts approximately 150 million users globally. Similarly, the Samsung Internet browser has garnered a user base of nearly 135 million individuals.
