IMC Directs NPL Clubs to Commence Licensing Procedure

As the new season of the Nigeria Premier League approaches, clubs have been reminded to commence the licensing processes for the upcoming 2023–24 season. The Interim Management Committee (IMC) has submitted the season’s report to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and clubs that have qualified for the CAF Club competitions have been invited to commence their procedures with the NFF in accordance with the CAF Club Licensing Regulations 2022.

With the new season set to begin on the weekend of August 26–27, the IMC has emphasized the importance of ensuring that participating clubs complete the licensing process in a timely manner. It has been made clear that only clubs that have obtained the necessary licenses will be eligible for registration and participation in the new season.

The Head of Operations for the IMC, Davidson Owumi, has urged all clubs to take advantage of the early completion of the licensing process. He has also advised clubs to contact the NFF licensing managers, Nasiru Jibril and Queen U. Otarakpo, for further information and guidance on the club licensing procedure.

Looking ahead to the CAF Club competitions, Enyimba and Remo Stars have secured their spots in the prestigious CAF Champions League, while Rivers United and Bendel Insurance will be representing Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
