In a series of thank-you visits to Ogun State, President Bola Tinubu spoke about his hopeful and optimistic outlook despite challenges faced during the last presidential election. He specifically highlighted the ineffective cashless policy implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria as a major hurdle. President Tinubu expressed his gratitude during the visits to the Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in Ijebu-Ode, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Abeokuta.

The President reflected on the obstacles faced during the 2023 presidential election campaign, including the confiscation of funds and the failure of the cashless policy. He revealed that he had sought guidance from Oba Adetona during a previous visit to his palace and had invoked the spirits of freedom and determination symbolized by “Baba Emilokan” to overcome these challenges.

President Tinubu acknowledged the driving force behind his service and extended his gratitude to Oba Adetona, all the Obas, elected officials, and his ‘personal friend’, Senator Gbenga Daniel, the Senator representing Ogun East. He thanked them for their loyalty and commitment during the crucial times of the 2023 election.

The President described his visit to Ijebu-Ode as a homecoming and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the people. He also expressed pride in the contributions of Chief Mike Adenuga, a Nigerian billionaire businessman, to the Nigerian economy.

During his visit to Abeokuta, President Tinubu thanked the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, for his warm reception. He described him as a great leader and reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his promises. President Tinubu appealed for prayers from the citizens of Ogun State to ensure progress and stability in the country.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State also expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for the visit. He praised the President as a man of uncommon grace and resilience. The Governor highlighted President Tinubu’s visionary approach to politics and applauded his preparedness and qualifications for office.

Oba Adetona and Oba Gbadebo, in separate remarks in their palaces, commended President Tinubu for his leadership and acknowledged him as an instrument of God chosen to rectify past shortcomings. They offered prayers for the President’s guidance and good health, emphasizing the importance of supporting his administration.

These visits by President Tinubu to Ogun State served as an expression of gratitude and a reaffirmation of his commitment to serving the Nigerian people with determination and resolve.
