I never asked Tinubu not to probe me, my ex-aides – Buhari

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed reports claiming that he asked President Bola Tinubu not to probe him and his former aides. Buhari labeled the reports as fake news, denying any discussion concerning the matter during his meeting with Tinubu in London.

Buhari’s former media aide, Garba Shehu, took to Twitter to clarify the situation. According to Shehu, the rumors circulating on social media are baseless and should not be given any attention or publicity.

With no one else present during the meeting between Buhari and Tinubu, there was no one to witness or report their conversation. Buhari has deliberately chosen to stay out of the public eye, aiming to avoid becoming a distraction to the new administration. His desire for peace and tranquility led him to relocate from his hometown in Daura when the constant influx of visitors became overwhelming.

Furthermore, Buhari insists that he longs for a period of rest and urges the Tinubu administration to be provided with a conducive atmosphere to fulfill its commitment to the Nigerian people.

The former President’s reaction seeks to put an end to the unfounded speculations and focus on the real issues at hand. As the new administration takes charge, Buhari aims to enjoy the quiet he so greatly desires, away from the noise of politics and public scrutiny.
