The Alumni Association of Christ School Ado Ekiti has announced its commitment to rebuilding and revamping various parts of the school’s infrastructure. Led by the National President, Mr Kunle Jinadu, the alumni group plans to embark on a six-month renewal agenda aimed at raising significant funds to accomplish this goal.

Speaking during the school’s 90th Father’s Anniversary, which was sponsored by the 1988/1993 alumni Set, Jinadu highlighted the significance of the milestone. He emphasized that the celebration marked not only the long-standing history of the school but also the recent return of ownership to the Anglican Diocese. Furthermore, he emphasized the opportunity to prepare for the school’s centenary in the coming years.

However, he noted that it was now time for a season of renewal and the implementation of a comprehensive agenda to raise funds and rebuild the school.

Similarly, the President of the 1988/1993 alumni set, Mr Bello Hakeem, emphasized the intention of the group to give back to their alma mater and inspire current students. He highlighted the numerous initiatives the set has undertaken, including scholarships, infrastructure development, and support for school programs. Hakeem also lauded the strong presence of over 180 alumni members during the reunion.

Mrs Foluke Daodu, the Ladies President of the 1988/1993 set, acknowledged the efforts of the alumni in developing the school. However, she stressed the need for government support to meet all the school’s needs and propel it to greater heights.

The alumni group also paid a visit to the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, to inform him of their plans and seek his blessings. In response, the monarch expressed gratitude to the alumni for their commitment to the school’s success and encouraged them to leverage their networks and connections to raise the necessary funds for the renewal project.

The occasion also featured a public symposium on the theme, “Restoring Christ School Back To Glory Days,” where various speakers, including Mrs Adenike Babatola, Vice President of the Christ School Alumni Association in the UK and America, shared their perspectives. They emphasized the importance of structural, spiritual, cultural, and respectful transformation in the school.

In his remarks, Venerable Archdeacon Oso Ebenezer Oluwarotimi, the school’s principal, highlighted the historical significance of the day, which marked the 90th anniversary since the establishment of Christ School. He called on current students to cherish their alma mater and endeavor to give back when they achieve success in life.

The ambitious plan to restore and rebuild Christ School by the alumni sets an inspiring precedent for grassroots efforts to enhance education and contribute to the development of future generations.
