The governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has given an assurance to the residents that the Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital will resume its services in a fortnight. This announcement comes after the hospital was among the public structures forcibly acquired by individuals during the tenure of the previous Abdullahi Ganduje administration.
In a statement released by his acting spokesman, Hisham Habib, in Kano on Sunday, Governor Abba Yusuf made this declaration during a visit from the Emir of Gaya, Aliyu Abdulkadir, who paid him a Sallah homage. The governor promptly instructed the commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran, to work tirelessly to ensure the seamless restoration of the health center.
Governor Yusuf stressed that his administration places a high priority on healthcare services and will continue to work towards the smooth delivery of policies throughout the state. He also expressed concern over the sanitation situation in the state and reiterated his administration’s commitment to refuse any form of negligence in waste evacuation and management.
Furthermore, the governor made it clear that he is not pursuing any personal vendetta, but rather working diligently for the progress and development of the state. He challenged his critics to keep a record of his work and judge him at the end of his tenure. He questioned the audacity of those in power who take public property and convert it for personal use.
During the visit, the Emir of Gaya informed the governor that the emirate council had established a vigilante group to enhance security and promote peaceful coexistence among the residents of Gaya.
The residents of Kano State eagerly await the reopening of the Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital, as they rely on its vital services for the healthcare needs of their children. The governor’s commitment to resuming operations at the hospital within two weeks is a step in the right direction towards improving the healthcare infrastructure in the state.
