In a concerted effort to enhance the security of Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas recently expressed his administration’s unwavering resolve to support the army. The state government, under the leadership of Gov Kefas, is determined to collaborate with the army to safeguard Taraba, which shares a common border with the Republic of Cameroon.

The governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Gebon T. Kataps, made this declaration on Sunday during an interdenominational service organized as part of the 2023 Army Day Celebration held at the Anglican Cathedral in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba.

Notably, Bishop Foreman Nedison of the Anglican Diocese of Jalingo, who spoke earlier, expressed concern about the misconduct of certain unscrupulous soldiers. He claimed that these individuals were involved in extorting money from drivers on highways, tarnishing the reputation of the Nigerian Army.

Emphasizing the significant role played by the Nigerian Army in defending the nation, the cleric urged Nigerians to put their differences aside and unite in supporting the army. He emphasized the importance of providing the army with vital information and resources to effectively carry out their duties and maintain peace in the country.

“I urge Nigerians to join hands in supporting the army with information and everything they need to effectively carry out their work for the peace of the nation,” Bishop Nedison implored.
