Kogi Community Endures Months of Darkness as Power Outage Brings Hardship

In a suburb of Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital, residents of NASFAT community in Felele phase II expressed their deep frustrations over the prolonged absence of power supply by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC). This debilitating state of affairs has persisted for several months, the community chairman, Hon Sani Ibrahim, and the chairman of the committee on electricity, Raji Omuya, revealed in a Save Our Soul letter addressed to the Lokoja office of AEDC.

The continuous power outage has brought about dire consequences, plunging the community into hardship and hampering economic activities. As a result, miscreants have seized the opportunity to engage in various forms of criminal activities.

The distressed community is now urging the AEDC and Governor Yahaya Bello to address their plight by providing a new transformer to alleviate their protracted electricity predicament.

The distressing letter reads, “We are calling on AEDC and Governor Yahaya Bello to quickly come to our aid. Our community has been suffering from a total blackout for several months. Economic activities have been crippled, and hoodlums are taking advantage of this situation.”

The exasperated community members have rallied together, pooling their resources to restore power to their community. However, the financial burden surpasses their capabilities, prompting this impassioned plea for AEDC and Governor Bello to intervene and rescue them from the long months of darkness and hardship they have endured.
