Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently engaged in a closed-door meeting with the newly appointed Service Chiefs. The meeting commenced a few minutes ago at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
In attendance are the Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General C.G Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Major-General T. A Lagbaja; Chief of Air Staff, AVM H.B Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla; and acting Inspector-General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun.
Notably, Tinubu made these appointments shortly before his recent trip to Paris, France, where he attended a financial summit. The decision to sack the former service chiefs and announce new replacements sent shockwaves throughout the nation.
Additionally, Tinubu appointed the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, as the National Security Adviser (NSA), succeeding Babagana Monguno.
The appointments of these new service chiefs have sparked diverse reactions among Nigerians. Today’s meeting marks the first official interaction between Tinubu and the new Service Chiefs as President of Nigeria.
