Nigerian Army Sensitises Students on Historic Evolution in Sokoto

The Nigeria Army 8-Division, in Sokoto state, Northwest Nigeria has sensitised students of the Federal Government College (FGC) on the historical evolution of the Army and its prospects.

The sensitization was part of activities marking the 2023 Nigeria Army Day celebration (NADCEL).

Addressing the students in Federal Government College, (FGC), by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Major General Godwin Mutkut, said the gesture is part of the Army’s civil relation responsibility.

“Today’s activity is one of the event lines of to celebrate the NADCEL 2023.

“We deliberately choose the FGC Sokoto for this sensitisation following its historic background of producing people who distinguish themselves in the society,”  General Mutkut said.

The GOC represented by the Garrison Commander of the division, Brigadier General Taye Ahmed, added that the sensitisation program will avail the students of the activities of the Nigerian Army.

“Apart from fighting and protecting the nation, at the end of this sensitisation, you will learn that Army has all other professional units that operate within its domain.

“Among us, we have Doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers and many other professional units,” he added.

The GOC further stated that aside from the sensitisation program for the NADCEL 2023, other activities including Mosque and Church prayers and medical Outreach were also lined up for the celebration.
