Enyimba Players Rewarded with N20m Cash Gift for NPL Title Triumph

In a gesture that acknowledges their remarkable achievement in clinching the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) title, Enyimba players have received a generous cash reward of N20 million from Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.

The thrilling victory at the NPL Super Six playoffs in Lagos last month marked Enyimba’s historic ninth domestic title. This momentous feat has solidified the club’s status as one of the most successful clubs in Nigerian football history.

As a token of appreciation for their unwavering commitment and exceptional performance, not only did the players receive the substantial cash prize, but the club’s former chairman, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, head coach Finidi George, his assistants, and other support staff were also acknowledged with varying sums for their invaluable contributions towards the team’s triumph.

The special event took place at the Government House in Umuahia, where the players and officials were hosted by the governor. This gathering provided a platform for Governor Alex Otti to express his admiration for the club’s stellar performance and praise the players and management for bringing honor and glory to the state of Abia.

While basking in the euphoria of their recent success, Enyimba is soon to embark on another exciting football venture. The team will be participating in the eagerly anticipated Naija Super 8 pre-season tournament, which will be held in Lagos. This offers an opportunity for the club to showcase their prowess and maintain their winning streak in the football arena.

Enyimba, also fondly referred to as the Aba Giants, has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian football. With an illustrious history and an impressive trophy cabinet, the club continues to inspire aspiring footballers and fans alike with their dedication, skill, and unwavering determination to succeed.
