Transfer: He lacks legs – Agbonlahor names player Mason Mount will replace at Man Utd

Former Aston Villa captain, Gabriel Agbonlahor has identified Christian Eriksen as the player Mason Mount will replace at Manchester United.

Mount is close to joining Man United from Chelsea after agreeing on a deal with the Red Devils.

The England international has already undergone his Man United medical on Monday and he is expected to be unveiled as their new player in the coming days.

However, Agbonlahor believes Mount will replace Eriksen in Erik ten Hag’s squad as their new number 8.

Speaking to Football Insider, Agbonlahor said, “If I am being honest, Eriksen didn’t do very well last season. He seemed like he lacked the legs and just could not get the ball back as much as Ten Hag wanted.

“Especially in the games against Manchester City – I just thought he was not really good enough.”

Agbonlahor added, “They need legs and Casemiro, Fernandes and Mount give you that. Mount is more mobile, can score goals – and he fits in perfectly. I think he will definitely come in for Eriksen. I see Mount as a number eight rather than playing out wide. I don’t think Eriksen has done enough to stay in that team anymore.”
