New Cat: I’m older in music industry than most artistes – Spyro

In a surprising revelation, talented singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has shattered the misconception that he is a novice in the music industry. Contrary to popular belief, Spyro confidently declares that he has been around longer than most Nigerian artistes.

Using his Instagram page as a platform, the ‘Who’s Your Guy’ crooner took to social media on Tuesday to set the record straight. With an air of amusement, Spyro shared a post that humorously stated, “It is funny how a lot of people think I’m a new cat *lol. I have been here way before most of your favorites.”

To lend credibility to his claim, Spyro attached a clip and art cover of his throwback songs to the post. He revealed that in his early days, he aspired to take over from the late Dagrin, whom he admired greatly. However, Spyro eventually shifted his focus from rapping to singing.

Interestingly, the seasoned artiste recounted that he collaborated with Tiwa Savage as far back as 2010, during a time when he was still an aspiring rapper known as “Freeze.” This proves that Spyro was making moves in the industry long before many of his peers.

Furthermore, Spyro proudly mentioned a collaboration with the late Sound Sultan in 2014, highlighting significant milestones in his musical journey. “I recorded my first collaboration in 2014 with the late Sound Sultan and have been grinding ever since until God finally answered my call this year,” he proclaimed.

Spyro’s revelation is a testament to the fact that success in the music industry cannot be measured solely by the number of years an artiste has spent on the scene. His experience and longevity in the industry are a testament to his talent and dedication.
