The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on Wednesday, listed Kaduna as one of many 14 states and 31 communities which will witness heavy rainfall that would lead to flooding from July 4 – 8.
In a press release by Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, Territorial Coordinator, NEMA, Lagos Territorial Office, the states and communities most susceptible to the forecast embrace Plateau: Langtang, Shendam, Kano: Sumaila, Tudun Wada, Sokoto: Shagari, Goronyo, Silame, Delta: Okwe, Kaduna: Kachia, Akwa Ibom: Upenekang, Adamawa: Mubi, Demsa, Song, Mayo-Belwa, Jimeta, Yola, Katsina: Katsina, Jibia, Kaita, Bindawa, Kebbi: Wara, Yelwa, Gwandu.
Others are; Zamfara: Shinkafi, Gummi, Borno State: Briyel, Jigawa: Gwaram, Kwara: Jebba, Niger: Mashegu, Kontagora
Ibrahim Farinloye, whereas calling stakeholders within the listed states, to take precautionary measures to forestall the lack of lives and property, thanked the Flood Early Warning System (FEWS) Central Hub of the Federal (*14*) of Environment Abuja for sharing the data.
