The Airlift of 2023 Pilgrims from the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia back to Nigeria is due to commence on Friday 7th of July after their successful completion of the 2023 hajj rites.
The Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Abubakar Adamu Evuti, disclosed this while addressing FCT pilgrims at Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Evuti said that the Board has concluded all arrangements for their airlift back home after the completion of the Hajj exercise.
While stating that the trip would be on first in, first out, the Director of the Board has since commenced the distribution of 32kg bags to the pilgrims to enable them to package their belongings in preparation for the return home journey.
Evuti, thus, called on pilgrims to abide by the luggage policy to avoid embarrassment during the collection of the 32kg and at the airport.
He explained that each pilgrim is entitled to two pieces of bags (32kg checked-in luggage and 8kg hand luggage) and, therefore, advised those with excess luggage to patronize companies approved by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to handle cargo services for the pilgrims.
The Director also advised the pilgrims to maximize the advantage of being in the holy land and perform their Ibadah while waiting for their turn to return home.
