Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has reassured the general public of the commitment of his authorities to justice, equity, and equity in dealing with points relating to all faiths in the state.
The governor acknowledged this whereas congratulating the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, who can be the chairman of the Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, on his twenty fifth priestly silver jubilee and e-book launch on the St. Michael Catholic Cathedral Church, Kontagora.
Bago, who was represented by his Special Assistant on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso, mentioned: “I recognise the importance of religious harmony and the need to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals belonging to different religious beliefs.
“I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to justice, fairness, and equity in treating all faiths within the state.”
According to him: “Niger State is home to a diverse population comprising people of various religious backgrounds, including Christianity, Islam, and traditional African religions.”
Bago described the cleric as an distinctive chief with compassion and a deep understanding of the non secular wants of his group.
While launching the e-book, “Bishop Bulus Yohanna: A Man on a Mission Beyond Mantles,” the governor mentioned the publication is a testomony to Bishop Yohanna’s “wisdom, knowledge, and profound insights into matters of faith and spirituality.”
Commending the state CAN chairman and the whole Christendom in the state, the governor famous that the affiliation has performed a pivotal position in fostering unity and selling non secular tolerance by the collective efforts of devoted people like Bishop Yohanna.
The Very Rev John Popoola delivered the homily on the Mass. Other clerics in attendance embody Archbishop Mathew Ndaguso of Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province, Bishop Martins Uzokwu and his auxiliary, Bishop Sylvester Gopep, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of Sokoto Diocese, and Bishop Steven Dame of Yola Diocese.
