IPOB sit-at-home: Omokri knocks Anambra govt as ESN shuts down Onitsha markets

Reno Omokri, a socio-political activist, has criticised the Anambra State Government over its silence as a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Eastern Security Network, ESN, enforce sit-at-home in Onitsha area of the state.

ESN reportedly shut down markets while enforcing the sit-at-home order in Onitsha area of Anambra State on Friday.

The area was thrown into pandemonium as gunshots were heard while people scampered for safety.

But, the state government has been silent over the incident.

Reacting, Omokri wondered why the state government did not set up a high powered delegation like it did over the controversy surrounding JAMB candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme.

Tweeting, Omokri wrote: “Today there were gunshots in Onitsha, the commercial capital of Anambra State.

“IPOB/ESN shut down markets in enforcement of a Friday sit-at-home to protest the continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of IPOB. Gunshots rented the air, forcing parents to rush to schools to evacuate their children.

“But the Anambra State Government has not reacted. No statement. No statewide broadcast. No update to calm the citizens.

“Yet, this is a state that felt a pressing need to set up a high powered committee to investigate Mmesoma Ejikeme’s JAMB result and give regular updates on that issue to the media.
