EPL: ‘You’ve been a great servant to Man United’ – De Gea told to leave club

Former Manchester United supervisor, Nicky Butt, has urged goalkeeper David de Gea to leave the club if he doesn’t need to stay at Old Trafford.

De Gea’s future with Man United is presently unclear after the expiration of his contract on June 30.

The Spanish worldwide has been in talks with the Red Devils over a new deal, however there’s an expectation that his time at Manchester is over as Erik ten Hag’s aspect are reportedly edging nearer to making Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana their second summer season signing.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Butt mentioned, “David’s been amazing for Man United, he has been there for 12 years, I think he has won the Player of the Year four or five times during his stint.

“You have just gotta applaud David, he has had his critics, he has had his mistakes but he has been a great servant to Man United.

“It might be time for him to go if he is still not wanting to be here, I think it has happened a couple of years in a row now. And I think if you look at all the players that leave Cristiano [Ronaldo] and all the other players when they wanna go to Spain or wherever it is they want to go.”
