Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington has revealed how she felt when her husband, Bankole Wellington, aka Banky W, knowledgeable her that he wished to affix politics.
Media Talk Africa recollects that Banky W on 11 November 2018, introduced his intent to run for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Modern Democratic Party.
He misplaced the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency election to Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress on 23 February, 2019.
He contested for a similar seat within the 2023 elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and once more misplaced to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus.
Speaking throughout a current interview with Hip TV, Adesua mentioned she was initially “worried” and “disturbed” when the singer revealed his intention to affix partisan politics.
She, nonetheless, mentioned she later determined to assist him as a result of “purpose is more important than fear.”
She mentioned, “When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.
“But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”
