Transfer: Great signing – Rio Ferdinand hails Man City’s new recruit

Rio Ferdinand has described Manchester City’s new summer time signing as an amazing addition to the squad.

Manchester City signed Kovacic from Chelsea for a reported £25 million this summer time.

The 29-year-old Croatia worldwide performed a significant function in Chelsea’s latest success, however his efficiency started to decrease following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel.

Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel, the previous Manchester United star stated: “Man City, Kovacic is a great signing. Obviously, they have lost Gundogan, the captain, but I think Kovacic is a shrewd signing at that price as well.

“I think he was worth £30m and in the current market, that is huge business, great business. He’s full of experience, won the biggest trophies, and a different player to what they have got in that area. He can travel with the ball through the lines, so I think he is a good signing.”
