The Management of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) has knowledgeable Members of the general public, particularly Prospective Corps Members that the venue of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Camp for Plateau State has been modified from the Permanent Orientation Camp in Mangu to Waye Foundation, by Buken Academy Doi-Du (Temporary NYSC Orientation Camp) in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.
This is contained in an announcement by the Director, Press and Public Relations of NYSC, Mr. Eddy Megwa.
According to the assertion, “All Prospective Corps Members are by this information expected to report at the new Orientation Camp (Waye Foundation by Buken Academy) on the dates specified in their call-up letters.”

Although the administration of the Scheme gave no purpose for the change of venue, this isn’t unconnected with the current safety scenario in Mangu Local Goverment Area of the State because the administration of the Scheme has all the time made it clear that the protection and welfare of Corps Members stay its utmost precedence.
The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang throughout the weekend imposed a 24-hour curfew on Mangu Local Government Area following incessant assaults that led to loss of lives and properties.
The transfer was taken to revive legislation and order in the affected communities after session with the State Security Council.
