FG denies claims of non-payment of June salaries for workers

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation has denied claims in some quarters that the government is yet to pay its workers’ June salary.

In an exclusive interview with Media Talk Africa on Tuesday, the Director of Press, OAGF, Mr Bawa Mokwa, said most federal government workers had received their June salaries.

Recall that a week ago, the federal government blamed technical glitches for delays in some civil servants’ June salaries.

But, as an update on the development, Mokwa stated that the issue had been put to rest.

“The matter is over now; most workers’ salaries under the federal government’s payroll had been paid. Those yet to receive it are due to delays by their banks”, he said.

Earlier, the President of the National Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Chapter, Olayinka Rahman, confirmed that June salaries had been paid.
