Plateau United appoint Mangut new head coach

Mbawas Mangut has been named the new head coach of Nigeria Premier League club Plateau United.

Mangut replaced Fidelis Ilechukwu, who joined Rangers United last week.

A former handler of the side, Kennedy Boboye, was rumoured to be in line to succeed Ilechukwu, but the management of the club settled for Magnut.

The experienced tactician is expected to take charge of the team immediately.

Plateau United had a disappointing NFL campaign last season.

The Peace Boys finished fifth in the regular season, failing to make the Super Six playoffs.

The club was also eliminated from the Federation Cup at the semi-final stage.
