I will sack Abaribe through Appeal Court – LP candidate, Onyeizu

The candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 Abia South Senatorial contest, Uchenna Onyeizu has finally filed his case at Court of Appeal, Owerri, seeking to be declared the winner of the election.

In the case filed on July 13 at the Owerri Division of the Appellate Court, the LP candidate, Onyeizu maintained that he defeated Senator Abaribe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, during the election.

He also frowned at the earlier decision of Panel 1 of the National Assembly election petitions tribunal sitting in Umuahia which dismissed his petition on technicalities, instead of attending to the merits of his case.

“The decision of the Panel is totally unacceptable to me because I am so convinced that I defeated Senator Abaribe,” he said, while appealing to his supporters to remain calm and await the outcome of his Appeal Court case.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Onyeizu caused a storm during one of the Panel’s sessions by claiming that he did not have confidence in the Panel, alleging that the Panel was already compromised.
