Akeredolu will soon return to official duties – Omisore tells Ondo people

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Iyiola Omisore, on Friday, stated that the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who has been ill for a while, is expected to return to the state soon.

Omisore reassured the government and people of the state that there is no need for alarm but rather for prayers for the governor, who he stated is already recuperating.

Speaking during a meeting in Akure with the acting governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, the state chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin, members of the House of Assembly, and other high-ranking government officials, Omisore, who was said to be on a “solidarity visit” to the state, conveyed the regrets of the National Secretariat regarding the recent statement allegedly credited to the National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, regarding the governor’s health.

The APC chieftain, who said the visit was aimed at providing support and solidarity to the state government during the challenging time, emphasised that the party stands united in its support for Akeredolu and expressed confidence in his swift recovery.

Omisore added that Adamu never said Akeredolu was incapacitated, as he stressed that he was in the state to dispel the misinterpretation of the national chairman’s “sincere and noble statement” and set the record straight.

“Mr Chairman only urged people to pray for the quick recovery of your governor, not on account of being incapacitated.

“Our visit, therefore, is to reinforce the position of the national secretariat that we only prayed for the quick recovery of Arakunrin Akeredolu, SAN, and not otherwise.”

While expressing appreciation to the team for taking the time to visit the state solidarity grounds, he decried the unprofessional twisting of facts by some members of the press and opted for outright falsehood.
