Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has urged striker Folarin Balogun to leave the Gunners this summer, insisting that it would be best for him and the North London club.
Balogun has been linked with Inter Milan and Premier League clubs following his superb loan season with Reims.
But Petit believes the USA international needs a clean break as Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus have already extended their contracts with Mikel Arteta’s side.
Speaking about Balogun, Petit told DAZN Bet: “He’s done very well here in France and I know he could be an option.
“But I have been saying for months that the best thing for all parties would be a clean break.
“Arsenal have just signed a new long-term contract with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus fits so well into how Mikel Arteta wants to play, so they need to buy one more striker or someone who can offer versatility in a wide role as well.”
