The member representing Awka South 1 State Constituency, Anambra State, Honourable Henry Mbachu has resumed duty as a secondary school Physics teacher in Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka.

This came about after an oversight visit by Mbachu to Igwebuike Grammar School on the 27th of June 2023 and having taught in the institution as a physics teacher at the beginning of his career, the Lawmaker wrote to the Commissioner of Education to be a volunteer teacher of physics in the school.

The Commissioner for Education who was pleased with the determination of Mbachu to teach school children, and his quest for academic excellence assented to the request and gave approval.

The Lawmaker appreciated the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for the successful recruitment of 5000 teachers to improve the workforce at the Public Secondary Schools in the state, an idea that has impacted positively on the development of the State’s educational system.

While charging the students on the need to remain steadfast in their academics, Honourable Mbachu in retrospect informed them that he was an ex-student of the school who later transcended to being a teacher in the same school.

“I was an ex-student of this great citadel of learning, I also started my career as a teacher in this school. The foundation of the educational qualities I possess in this life was laid here. I achieved it through dedication and steadfastness,” he said.

The management of Igwebuike Grammar School, teachers as well as the students were pleased to receive their new teacher who volunteered to impart knowledge.

Honourable Henry Mbachu returned to the State House of Assembly complex for a plenary session after teaching the students.
