Transfer: Rangers boss, Beale backs Dessers to shine at Ibrox

Rangers manager Michael Beale is expecting big things from new signing Cyriel Dessers.

Dessers swapped Italian club Cremonese for Rangers earlier this month.

The Nigeria international left Cremonese after just one season after netting seven times in 29 league appearances.

The 28-year-old’s reputation soared after he emerged top scorer in the UEFA Conference League during his loan stint with Dutch club Feyenoord two seasons ago.

Beale is confident Dessers will do well at the Ibrox.

“I think Dessers will be one of three or four players who can get us double figures in goals this season”, Beale was quoted by PLZ.

“If we’re a good team, we’ll share the goals. But Cyriel has come in, and he’s really fresh, energetic. We’re trying to get as many forwards as we can on the pitch.”
