Transfer: He’s very important, we’ll fight to keep him – Guardiola on Man City star

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has said the club ‘will fight’ to keep right-back, Kyle Walker at Etihad amid the ongoing transfer saga surrounding his possible move to Bayern Munich.

Guardiola said that Walker is very important to Man City amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Walker has reportedly reached a shock verbal agreement to join Bayern but the clubs are yet to agree a transfer fee for the 33-year-old.

Man City are hoping to get £15m for the England international who has a year left on his contract.

Speaking ahead of Man City’s pre-season friendly tie with Bayern Munich on Wednesday, Guardiola was quoted by Daily Mail as saying: “We hope Kyle Walker stays with us. I heard comments from [Thomas] Tuchel about Kyle, I will say the same.

“What I can say is he is a very important player for us. The clubs are in touch, we will fight for him.”
