Nasarawa Partners With Korea International To Train Teachers in Smart Schools

Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Commission NSUBEC in collaboration with Korea International Corporation Agency (KOICA) has sponsored four primary school teachers on intensive training in smart schools.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Board Secretary, Hajia Hashiya Ahmed, on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Board and issued to Journalists in the state.

According to the statement “Teachers from the various Local Governments and Education Development Authorities across the state were selected for the deployment to the Smart School and were subjected to a Computer Best Test (CBT) examination conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on 15th March 2023″.

He further revealed that following the outcome of the CBT results, some teachers were selected based on their performance and other criteria for overseas training.

The selected teachers are
Faruq O. Ogu – LGEA Primary School Islamiya; Obi Egbuta Chidiebere – LGEA Primary School Lafia West; Ibrahim Kyenpia Tang’an – LGEA Primary School, Koya, Karu and Janet A. Ahmed- LGEA Primary School, Nasarawa North, Nasarawa.

The teachers selected are expected to serve as guides to their colleagues upon their return from the training.

The Chief Executive Officer, of NSUBEC, commended the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for his concerted efforts at creating an environment conducive for teaching and learning in primary schools in the last four years of his administration.

He particularly commended the State Governor for graciously approving and releasing the State counterpart funds which has led to the award of contracts for new classrooms, renovation of structures, provision of instructional materials as well as the Teachers Development Programme.

The intensive training in Seoul, South Korea is expected to start on 27th July 2023 and end on 19th August 2023.
