Senate Receives President Tinubu’s Second Batch Of Ministers Designate

President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, forwarded 19 additional names as the second batch of ministers designate for screening and confirmation by the Nigwrian Senate.

The list of new nominees, concealed in a brown envelope, was delivered by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who read it towards the end of wednesday’s plenary.

A list of the latest nominees include former Governors Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun state, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state, Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe state and Simon Lalong of Plateau state.

Former federal lawmakers on the list are Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Senator Alkali Ahmed Saidu, Senator Heineken Lokpobori, Hon. Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo and Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu.

The rest are Abdullahi Tijjani, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Gwarzo, Bosun Tijani, Dr. Maryam Shetty, Isiak Salako, Tunji Alausa, Lola Ade John, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu and Prof. Tahir Mamman.

Following the arrival of the second batch of ministers designate on wednesday, the total number of the nominees before the Senate is now 47.

Screening of the new nominees, according to the Senate President would commence on Friday while they were given Thursday to perfect their documentations ahead of the exercise.
