Army partners with NIGCOMSAT on communication infrastructure

The Nigerian Army (NA) is partnering with the Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) for formidable communication infrastructure.

According to a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja stated this on Wednesday, 9 August 2023, when he received the management team of NIGCOMSAT, led by the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Tukur Lawal at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

The Army Chief who appreciated the collaboration between the Nigerian Army (NA) and NIGCOMSAT revealed that the agency has provided fast, reliable and secured communication to Army formations over the years

He noted that this has positively impacted on the operational efficiency of the NA.

The Army Chief pledged to sustain the collaboration between the NA and NIGCOMSAT, stressing that relationship with the agency has been positively rewarding.

For his part, the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, Tukur Lawal applauded the Nigerian Army for the feedback received on NIGCOMSAT services and the mutual collaboration between the two organizations.
He further pointed out, that NIGCOMSAT was established to provide seamless connectivity and satellite communication through technological innovation.

The Managing Director observed, that it is imperative for the Nigerian Army to collaborate with NIGCOMSAT to promote operational effectiveness and the territorial defence of the nation.

He urged the Nigerian Army to actively participate in the next satellite launch by the agency, in furtherance of national defence and security, through collaborative development of secure communication infrastructure.
