Remo Stars pull out pre-season tournament

Remo Stars have pulled out of the 2023 optimal energy pre-season tournament.

The prestigious pre-season tournament is set to begin on Friday (today) at the Remo Stars Stadium.

The Nigeria Professional Football League side in a statement announced their withdrawal from the tournament.

The Sky Blue Stars pointed to the short time frame to prepare for the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers as a reason for their withdrawal.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s led side will take on Ghanian Champions Medeama SC in the first round of the CAF Champions League this month.

Remo Stars and Rivers United are Nigeria’s flag-bearers in the CAF Champions League.
