Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, on Friday tried to rile up Chelsea fans after the Reds appeared to lose the battle to sign Moises Caicedo.
Both clubs have been involved in a transfer tussle for Caicedo this week.
Over the last 24 hours, Liverpool saw a £110 million offer for Caicedo accepted by Brighton.
However, it has emerged that the Ecuadorian is intent in ‘keeping his word’ and signing for Chelsea.
Reacting to this development, Carragher tweeted: “(£)110M is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a 21yr old. Boehly has lost his mind yet again.”
If Liverpool misses out on Caicedo, they are likely to return for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
