Parents beg IGP to admit granduands of PSS into the force academy

Stakeholders in Niger state have appealed to the Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to enrol graduands of the Police Secondary Schools in the country into the Nigeria Police Academy

They observed that, considering the kind of training the students are made to undergo, they should be considered for the force.

Speaking at the 26th passing out parade and prize-giving ceremony of 420 students of the Police Secondary School, Minna, the Chairman, Police Schoo Chairman Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Bar. Shehu Umar, urged the Police High Command to grant students who graduated from PSS automatic admission into the Academy.

“We are appealing to the IGP to consider our children who graduated from PSS into the Police Academy. Our appeal is based on the kind of training they have received from the school,” the PTA chairman stated.

Earlier, the Commandant of PSS Minna, SP Haruna Ibrahim, advised parents to stop giving their children expensive phones to school while calling on them to disclose their health status to the school management before enrollment.

The commandant also urged the parents to stop giving their Children excess money to school.

Also, wife of the Inspector General of Police and National President of the Police Officers Wife Association (POWA), Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, who was the Reviewing Officer of the Passing Out Parade, thanked the management of the school for setting the pace for other schools to follow while urging the graduands to be good ambassadors of the school.

In his remarks, the Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Ogundele Ayodeji, noted that if the students are offered automatic admissions into the Academy, it will boost morale for other PSS Students in the country.
