Abducted emir regains freedom

The kidnapped emir of Gurku in Karu Local Government space of Nasarawa State, Jibrin Waziri, has been launched by kidnappers after every week in captivity.

The conventional ruler and his spouse have been kidnapped by gunmen from their house on August 6.

The News Agency of Nigeria studies that the discharge of the chief was confirmed by the Police Command within the state and Gurku Traditional Council.

An announcement by Zubairu Adamu, the district head and Madaki of Gurku, stated Waziri was launched on Monday.

He nevertheless stated that the emir’s spouse, Sa’adatu, was but to be launched.

“The royal father was released by his abductors in the early hours of Monday unhurt.

“We thank all that assisted in one way or the other towards the release of the monarch, but regrettably, the abductors are still holding hostage the wife Hajia Sa’adatu who was kidnapped along with the royal father.

“The palace calls for intensified prayers for the release of the wife of the royal father,” he stated.

Also, DSP Ramhan Nansel, spokesman of the police command within the state, confirmed the event and stated efforts have been on to make sure the discharge of the spouse of the normal ruler.
