Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has shed light on the tactics employed by individuals involved in criminal activities in the southeast region of Nigeria. He emphasized that these perpetrators have resorted to spreading fabricated lies and false narratives in order to maintain their influence and relevance.

In a statement signed by Ejiofor and made available to Media Talk Africa on Tuesday, he affirmed that a handwritten note from Nnamdi Kanu calling for an end to the imposed sit-at-home order in the southeast had not only exposed and put an end to Simon Ekpa’s criminal enterprise but had also unsettled him, compelling him to spread false narratives to remain relevant.

Ejiofor highlighted that the immediate cessation of criminal activities through Nnamdi Kanu’s handwritten note is evidence that destiny cannot be challenged.

He pleaded with all supporters and followers of Kanu to distance themselves from criminal behavior and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the IPOB leadership.

“The complete and utter termination of the criminal activities of an individual operating from Finland through a short handwritten note by Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a clear indication that destiny cannot be contested,” Ejiofor expressed.

“The sit-at-home order is no longer in effect today because Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu declared its end—such is the power of a handwritten note! The baseless sit-at-home practice came to a halt the moment Onyendu’s handwritten note was made public.

“The criminal advocate for the sit-at-home order in Finland goes to work every Monday, if at all he has any meaningful engagement, and his child, whom he had with a Finnish lady, attends school regularly. But children in Igbo land are forbidden from going to school on Mondays, and parents are prohibited from going out to earn a living to sustain their families, especially during this period of unprecedented economic hardship. What a height of hypocrisy and wickedness!” he added.

The IPOB lawyer further emphasized that his client, Nnamdi Kanu, had shown unwavering love for his people by putting an end to the disruptive sit-at-home order, which the southeast governors had been unable to stop for two years.

“It only took a handwritten note of approximately 50 words to bring an end to the criminal activities of an individual residing in faraway Finland,” Ejiofor stated.

“This serves as evidence that if Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had been released in accordance with the Appellate Court’s judgment, all the tragic and unfortunate deaths and unnecessary destruction that occurred over the past turbulent two years in Igbo land could have been avoided, as his beloved people would have heeded his words.”

Concluding his statement, Ejiofor reiterated the transformative power of Nnamdi Kanu’s physical presence, stating, “If this level of peace can be achieved through a simple written note from solitary confinement in the SSS jail, one can only imagine the profound impact Onyendu’s physical presence will have.

“This serves to demonstrate that those responsible for the insecurity in the South-East, and those who benefit from it, are the same individuals preventing the release of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”
