Ogun State Governor Appoints Lekan Adeniran as Chief Press Secretary

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has recently appointed Lekan Adeniran as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor.

This decision follows the tenure of Kunle Somorin as the previous Chief Press Secretary during the Governor’s first term.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the Governor’s Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, made the announcement of the appointment, stating that it takes immediate effect.

Adeniran, a Mass Communication graduate with an impressive three decades of experience as a journalist, was described by Talabi as the perfect fit for the role.

The statement highlighted Adeniran’s illustrious career, which began at The Guardian in 1992, where he covered significant beats such as the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Lagos State House of Assembly, and the Governor’s Office in Alausa, Ikeja.

After leaving The Guardian in 2001, Adeniran joined the newly established Daily Independent and went on to work with reputable publications like the Compass, Next, and National Mirror newspapers.

Prior to his appointment, Adeniran served as the editor of WesternPost, an esteemed online newspaper publication.
