Uriel Oputa, an evicted contestant from the Big Brother Naija All Stars house, has recently expressed her disappointment over being evicted despite not being the least-voted housemate.
During the live show on Sunday, Uriel was evicted after two of the eviction jurors voted for her. The jurors, consisting of Laycon, a former BBNaija winner, Teddy A, and Diane, were responsible for voting for the eviction of one of the two least popular housemates determined by fans’ votes. Laycon and Diane voted for Uriel, whereas Teddy A voted for Seyi. As a result, Uriel was evicted, even though she had received more fans’ votes than Seyi.
During an interview with Lagos Talks FM, Uriel expressed her frustration, feeling that she was robbed of her place in the house.
She also revealed her regret for voting for Laycon during the Big Brother Naija “Lockdown” season in 2020.
Uriel said, “I feel robbed [about my eviction]. I feel that it wasn’t my time [to be evicted]. I feel like I was treated unfairly. I love everything that Big Brother stands for, but I believe that the jury system is what caused me to feel that it was not right. It was not fair.
“I contributed to the show. I brought life to it. And I don’t think it’s fair. I will be honest with you, and I have no shame in saying it. I really regret voting for Laycon. I think it was a betrayal on his part because I campaigned heavily for him. I felt really bad when I found out certain things. But it is what it is. In difficult circumstances, you have to make the best out of it. I truly feel robbed, and I believe I should still be in there.”
