FG Directs Removal of Nationwide ‘All Eyes on the Judiciary’ Billboards

The Federal Government has issued a directive for the immediate removal of billboards displaying the message “All Eyes on the Judiciary” across the country.

In addition, the government has disbanded the secretariat of the Advertising Standard Panel (ASP) due to its authorization of the advertisement.

Dr. Olalekan Fadolepo, the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, announced this decision in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Fadolepo, the advertisement is deemed insensitive because it pertains to a matter currently before the Judiciary.

“The Advertising Standards Panel did not provide approval for the exposed concepts; therefore, the council has instructed the immediate removal of all displayed materials and the imposition of sanctions on the violators,” he stated.

The ‘All Eyes on the Judiciary’ campaign comes at a time of heightened anticipation as Nigerians await the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, along with Peter Obi of the Labour Party, contested the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
