APC to Rebound Soon from Election Setback in Kano, Assures Deputy Senate President

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, remains confident that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will recover from the recent electoral setback in Kano State. Despite the party’s defeat, Jibrin believes that the APC will bounce back and urges party stakeholders in the state to stand united.

During a meeting with local government vice chairmen from the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen (ALGOVC) in Kano State at the National Assembly, Senator Barau expressed his hope that the outcome of the tribunal will be in favor of the APC with the support of prayers and unity.

The APC is currently challenging the victory of Abba Yusuf from the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in the governorship election held on March 18 in Kano State at the Election Petition Tribunal.

Speaking passionately, Senator Barau stated, “We are praying and hopeful that the outcome of the tribunal will be favorable to us. Everything is in God’s hands. Let us be united and work together. By God’s grace, it’s only a matter of time before we bounce back in Kano State.

“As it stands, we are in opposition and there are high expectations from us. It is crucial that we remain united and work together in the best interest of our party,” he continued.

Senator Barau commended the local government vice chairmen for their visit and assured them of his commitment to collaborating with them in order to improve the living standards of the grassroots population.

“The local government plays a vital role. We will continue working with you to address the challenges faced by our people. We are proud of you. Let us continue working together,” Senator Barau affirmed.

The chairman of ALGOVC, Alhaji Yakubu Musa Naira, earlier visited the National Assembly to congratulate Senator Barau on his appointment as the Deputy President of the Senate.
