The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has called upon women, particularly mothers, to take responsibility for the upbringing of the youth and instill in them the values needed to uphold the nation’s integrity.

Speaking during a meeting with the National Executive of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) at her office in the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday, Tinubu emphasized the importance of mothers and women in safeguarding the youth from negative influences, including the misuse of social media.

“The youth must understand their true identity as Nigerians and not be swayed by foreign cultures. In the past, there was a sense of community where children would share meals and everyone would contribute to their upbringing,” Tinubu reminisced.

Tinubu expressed her belief that Nigerians possess the strength and resilience to overcome the current challenges facing the nation. She encouraged the youth to foster a spirit of love and unity amongst themselves.

“We cannot solely rely on government intervention; we must extend a helping hand to those around us,” she added.
