Breaking News: DHQ Confirms 36 Military Officers Killed in Niger State

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has recently revealed that 36 officers have tragically lost their lives in Niger State, Nigeria.

During a biweekly briefing of the Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, shared the devastating news about the casualties resulting from an ambush of troops in Niger State. This loss also included the unfortunate crash of an evacuation helicopter on August 14, 2023.

Major General Edward Buba, in response to inquiries about the cause of the helicopter crash, stated that an ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the exact cause. He urged citizens to be vigilant against terrorist propaganda and to maintain their patriotic spirit.

Tragedy struck as insurgents ambushed troops in the Zungeru area of Niger State, leading to the ultimate sacrifice paid by some brave soldiers of the Nigerian Army.

In yet another devastating incident, a Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter, dispatched for a casualty evacuation mission, crashed on Monday in the Shiroro Local Government Area of the state.
