Ministers appointed based on political strengths for possible election rerun – Public affairs analyst, Abels

A public affairs analyst, Eugene Abels, has suggested that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s choice of ministerial appointments is based on political reasons in the event of a rerun.

He noted that the ministerial nominees are mostly strong politicians who have influence in their states.

Abels, in an interview with Media Talk Africa, said he believes these ministers were appointed to deliver votes for the present government, in case there is a rerun in some states.

”We are aware of the current state of affairs concerning the last elections, and I think that the appointments are purely based on political reasons in the event that there is a rerun.

“If you look at the list very well, 90% of them are politicians, who supposedly have strong influence politically in their domains.

“In case elections are cancelled in some areas, in case the Supreme Court rules that there should be a rerun, they want to be ready, that’s the way I see it,” he said.
