EPL: Former Man Utd Player Dwight Yorke Urges Club to Sign Chelsea Outcast

In a surprising turn of events, former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has publicly advised his former club to consider signing Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku.

Yorke, known for his astute opinions on the game, believes that Lukaku, who is currently out of Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the upcoming season, is a proven goalscorer that could greatly benefit Man United. He suggests that the Red Devils should pursue a short-term deal with the Belgian forward this summer.

Having previously spent two successful years at Old Trafford from 2017 to 2019, Lukaku left a lasting impression with his outstanding performance, registering an impressive 42 goals across 96 matches in all competitions.

Following his departure from Man United, Lukaku had a fruitful loan spell at Inter Milan last season before making his eagerly anticipated return to the Premier League with Chelsea. However, recent reports indicate that Chelsea is keen on offloading the striker this summer.

Expanding on his thoughts, Yorke shared with OLBG: “Romelu Lukaku is absolutely still good enough to play for a top-six club. I firmly believe that both Manchester United and Tottenham should seriously consider securing Lukaku’s services on a short-term loan deal, with an agreement to share a portion of his wages.”

Yorke continues, “Despite the occasional criticism aimed at Lukaku, it is essential to acknowledge his exceptional goalscoring record, which often goes unnoticed. At the age of 30, he is still in his prime and remains a proven goalscorer. I am confident that any club securing Lukaku on a short loan deal would be making an incredibly shrewd and advantageous move.”
