Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved payment of local government pensioners across the 17 local government councils of the state.
This was disclosed in a statement signed on Thursday by the Governor’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, and made available to Media Talk Africa in Damaturu.
According to the statement, the governor approved the sum of N667,045,441.22 for the payment of 475 local government pensioners.
It also said that Buni gave the approval after the screening and verification of the pensioners in the 17 local government councils.
“This is in continuation of Governor Buni’s efforts to settle outstanding pensions owed to retired local government employees,” the statement added.
